Delhi Cafe Owner Puneet Khurana Dies by Suicide Amid Divorce and Business Dispute
In a tragic development, Puneet Khurana, co-founder of the well-known Woodbox Cafe in Delhi, was found dead at his residence in Kalyan Vihar, Model Town, on Tuesday evening. According to police, the 32-year-old entrepreneur was discovered hanging in his room. Preliminary investigations suggest the death was a suicide.
Khurrana’s family claims he was deeply distressed due to ongoing marital and business disputes with his wife, Manika Jagdish Pahwa. The couple, married since 2016, had been undergoing divorce proceedings and were reportedly engaged in a contentious disagreement over the ownership and management of their joint business.
Audio Recording
A 16-minute audio clip, now part of the investigation, sheds light on the discord between the couple. In the recording, Pahwa reportedly insisted on her entitlement as a business partner, emphasizing the need for her dues to be cleared despite the divorce proceedings.
The police have seized Khurana’s phone and summoned Pahwa for questioning to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the case.

Subhash’s suicide led to the arrest of his wife, Nikita Singhania, her mother, and brother, with all three being remanded to judicial custody.
