Cabinet Greenlights Multiple Initiatives

The Hemant Soren cabinet gave the nod to 44 proposals on March 27th, including allocating Rs 57.82 crore for Transport City Phase 2, the development of the second phase of Jharkhand’s capital’s transport city.

Among other decisions, the cabinet approved extensions for non-government educational institutions to operate ashram schools, residential schools under the welfare department, and Eklavya Model Residential Schools.

Key Approvals and Revised Rules

The state cabinet also agreed to bear the burden of the seventh pay revision benefit for employees of urban local bodies. They decided to shift the responsibility of running National Cadet Corps (NCC) activities from the sports department to the school education department. Additionally, the cabinet approved the inclusion of common telecom infrastructure in the Jharkhand Building Bylaws 2006. Furthermore, the Jharkhand Labour Promoter Recruitment Rules (Amendment) 2023 and the Jharkhand Industrial Training Service Cadre Revised Rules 2023 were formed.

Internet Services and Revised Rules Formation

Another noteworthy approval was the allocation of Rs 84 crore to provide internet services in all block headquarters in Simdega, Khunti, and Dumka. The cabinet also endorsed the formation of the Jharkhand Product Constable Service (Revised) Rules 2023 and the State Service Supply Rules 2023.

Transportation and Automated Rain Gauges

In an effort to improve transportation within the Ranchi Municipal Corporation area, the cabinet authorized the purchase of 244 city buses. Additionally, they approved the installation of automated rain gauges in 1,633 panchayats and 216 blocks, which will help monitor and manage rainfall more efficiently.
