CEO Chronicles a Grueling Legal Battle

Tenant Refused to Pay rent

In the midst of Bengaluru’s burgeoning urban landscape, a corporate CEO has shared a cautionary tale, shining a spotlight on the less-discussed tribulations of property ownership in the city.

The Long Road to Eviction

Capital Mind’s top brass, Deepak Shenoy, gave a firsthand account of the two-year-long judicial odyssey his mother embarked upon. The challenge? Evicting a tenant who ditched the rent dues after the initial month.

Taking to social media, Shenoy delved into the specifics. He remarked, “Personally went through this… Mom went to the courthouse for two years, once every two months, to evict a tenant who refused to pay rent after the first month. He also filed a case, saying henchmen used it just like that. I had done this with other people too.”

The climax of the ordeal saw a court order finally coming through after two long years, but the final eviction didn’t materialize until three months post that. “The fraud renter left on the last day before the cops were brought in,” Shenoy candidly shared.

A Reality Check for the Shenoys

The drawn-out legal battle was more than just a strain on time and resources. It was emotionally taxing. Commenting on the aftermath, Shenoy stated, “After that, mom sold all real estate and now lives in the only house she owns. We’ve even had a piece of land taken over by goondas and then settled.”

Bengaluru’s Real Estate Conundrum

While many consider real estate as a golden goose, for Shenoy and his family, the sector spelled more trouble than treasure. He concluded, “Real estate is not something that works for us. More money has been made in markets with far less hassle, by us.”

In the heart of Bengaluru, known for its technological advancements and metropolitan allure, these tales remind potential property moguls of the pitfalls and challenges lurking in the shadows. As the city continues to thrive and grow, there’s a pressing need to ensure the security and rights of property owners.
